It doesn’t happen overnight.
One day, you’re building your business with fire in your gut and clarity in your purpose. The next, you’re making decisions driven by pressure, ego or distraction. You’re chasing “what’s next” instead of strengthening “what’s now”.
And before long, the business that once had deep roots in purpose is being pulled in directions you never intended.
This drift is common. Especially after a taste of success, business owners often face what I call “Achievement-Induced Drift“.
You achieve the revenue goal, hit the growth benchmark, or win the award and then you start looking outward instead of inward. New opportunities feel exciting, even if they’re not aligned. And without realizing it, you’ve loosened your grip on the very foundation that made the business work in the first place.
So how do you get back?
✔ You revisit the roots.
✔ You remind yourself of why you started.
✔ You look at the impact you wanted to make, not just the income you wanted to earn.
Getting back to purpose doesn’t mean playing small, it means growing with direction. When purpose fuels the mission, clarity returns. So does momentum.
But most importantly…so does FULFILLMENT!
